hey there lovelies and a very happy friday to you wherever you may be. today’s edition of facts on friday is all about me and how utterly bonkers product photography is making me lately.
do you want to see some facts about that, visually? of course you do. here are the latest versions of my photos (and i am still not done). how many versions in total? have a look for yourself :/
versions 1 and 2 side by side. the major issue i have come across so far is the difference between each and every person’s screen resolution. totally maddening. they look purple and pink to me, but to others they are beige and grey. back to the drawing board …
then onto three different potential backgrounds, with crystal props. all of which were deemed too busy. so …
trying out some gorgeous pink lace, but alas it was still too busy :( onwards to …
onto some cream coloured lace. i really loved these photos, but again a few people felt the lace was too busy … must. not. throw. toys. out. of. pram. onwards! (although i still might choose these – they make me happy!)
plain white. i totally hate these (boring!) but my mastermind group thinks they’re fabbo. humph. again – no throwing toys from the pram. onwards!
i tried out these subtle green leaves (scrapbooking paper) but i’m not in love. onwards!
subtle pink flowers. pretty, but a bit too changeable depending on how i lighten and brighten the picture. humph. onwards!
a cute ombre background this time. i quite like this, but again it is a bit too changeable depending on how i need to edit each item. hmm… onwards!
a painterly background. i like this one too! it’s definitely a contender for my products :)
tiny sparkly writing background. not sure about this – somehow the background looks blurry! onwards!
and finally (for now at least) here is my wooden background. i really quite like this one too, although i’m not sure if too many people use this background these days …. thoughts, thoughts, thoughts.
for me, it’s a choice between these three:
what do you think lovelies? which background do you like the best? i’d love to know :)
so, my fact this friday is this: it has taken me 14 different versions of my photos (so far) to find ones i am happy to use in my shop. who would know the effort people have to go to? i imagine lots of people who don’t sell online have no idea the amount of effort we’re going to to take good photos of our items.
anyhoo – if you need me i’ll be in the corner, rocking and mumbling incoherently :)
have a great weekend lovelies!
