Art can be an incredibly healing tool. I know from my own experience that I never expected art to heal me but it did.
I had an awful battle with depression and art and creativity really helped pull me out of that deep dark well.
Mixed media art in particular can be a great starting point as it is so forgiving – you work in layers and if you don’t like something you just paint over it!
No need to let your inner critic get in the way at all.
This week’s timelapse video is taken from my ECourse Let Art Into Your Heart. It shows me working on my “pain” canvas. You’ll see that far from being traumatic, it’s a beautiful piece!
And here is the canvas all finished. I love her serenity and her calmness and the obvious inner wisdom that she is connecting to in her thoughtful state.
